MINI how-to guide: This is how you create a passkey for your MINI ID in the MINI portal.

With passkeys, you can log in to MINI apps and MINI web pages conveniently and securely without entering a password. You confirm your identity using facial recognition, fingerprint or PIN, if your device supports one of these options.

Requirements:

  • You need a MINI ID.
  • Your device must support passkeys.

Important notes:

  • Your passkey is authenticated via facial recognition, fingerprint or PIN on your PC or mobile device (smartphone or tablet) or with a USB security key on your PC.
  • The process of creating a passkey may vary depending on the operating system of your PC and your mobile device as well as your Internet browser. Further information can be found on the Internet on the support pages of the operating system and browser providers.

Step 1:
Open the MINI web page of your country in your PC browser.


Step 2:
Click on the profile icon in the navigation bar.


Step 3:
Select "Login".


Step 4:
Enter your MINI ID and confirm with "Next".


Step 5:
Enter your password and confirm with "Log in now".

 

Step 6:

Select "My profile".


Step 7:

Select "Account data".


Step 8:

Select "Edit" passkeys.

 

Step 9:

Select "Create passkey".

 

Step 10:

Enter your password and confirm with "Create passkey".

 

Step 11:

Follow the instructions on your device.
