The Phone ID is a verified mobile phone number that you can enter in your profile in addition to your e-mail address. You benefit from a more flexible login and have the choice of logging in to the MINI App or the MINI web page using either your e-mail address or your Phone ID. The use of the Phone ID is optional. Logging in with an e-mail address is still possible at any time.
The Phone ID can be activated or updated in the MINI App or in the MINI portal:
MINI App: "Profile" (tab) > "Settings" (gear icon) > "Account data".
MINI portal: Log in to the MINI web page with your MINI ID, click on the profile icon in the navigation bar and select: "My profile" > "Account data".
The mobile phone number is verified using a one-time password (OTP) via SMS and then automatically saved as the preferred communication number. Both a private and a business mobile phone number can be used, as long as it can receive SMS.
You can deactivate your Phone ID at any time (go to "My profile" > "Account data"). Your e-mail address will remain your primary login method. Resetting the password is currently only possible by e-mail. For security reasons, the password cannot currently be reset via the Phone ID (SMS verification).
