MINI how-to guide: This is how you connect your smartphone with Android Auto in your MINI with Operating System 9.

Requirements:

• Android Auto is part of the standard equipment (MINI Connected Base) of your MINI with Operating System 9.
• You need a compatible Android smartphone with an active data account and 5 GHz Wi-Fi support.
• Wireless projection is compatible with the following Android versions:
  • Smartphones with Android 11.0
  • Google or Samsung smartphones with Android 10.0
  • Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy S8+ or Note 8 with Android 9.0 and the "Android Auto" app from the Google Play Store.
• Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi must be active on your smartphone.
• No Apple iPhone may be connected to Apple CarPlay.

• You can switch the connection mode of your smartphone between Android Auto and Bluetooth® in the "Mobile devices" menu.
• To switch from Android Auto to MINI apps and functions in the MINI system, you must exit Android Auto. To do this, select the Home icon on the MINI Interaction Unit. Android Auto remains active in the background and can be selected again using the Android icon in the menu bar. Alternatively, you can temporarily deactivate Android Auto in the "Mobile devices" menu, e.g. to use your smartphone without Android Auto.
• You can activate the Google Assistant with the activation word "OK Google" or by pressing and holding the microphone button on the steering wheel of your MINI.
