Depending on the model and equipment of your iPhone, you can display and operate selected apps with Apple CarPlay on the MINI Interaction Unit of your MINI with Operating System 9.
Requirements:
- Apple CarPlay is part of the standard equipment (MINI Connected Base) of your MINI with Operating System 9.
- You need an iPhone 5 or newer with an active data account and 5 GHz Wi-Fi support.
- Bluetooth®, Wi-Fi and Siri voice control must be active on your iPhone.
- No smartphone must be connected to Android Auto.
Important notes:

- You can switch the connection mode of your iPhone between Apple CarPlay and Bluetooth® in the "Mobile devices" menu.
- To switch from Apple CarPlay to MINI apps and functions in the MINI system, you must exit Apple CarPlay. To do this, select the Home icon on the MINI Interaction Unit. Apple CarPlay remains active in the background and can be selected again using the Apple icon in the menu bar. Alternatively, you can temporarily deactivate Apple CarPlay in the "Mobile devices" menu, e.g. to use your iPhone without Apple CarPlay.
- You can activate Siri voice control with the activation word "Hey Siri" or by pressing and holding the microphone button on the steering wheel of your MINI.
Step 1:
Open the Apps menu.
Step 2:
Select "All".
Step 3:
Select "Apple CarPlay".
Step 4:
Follow the instructions on the MINI Interaction Unit.
