I want to share my vehicle data for third parties through MINI CarData. Is the data transmitted via my smartphone?

No. MINI CarData transmits the data via the built-in SIM card in your MINI. Third parties can download the data stored by your MINI in MINI CarData directly from the MINI Connected server via an online platform after you have given your approval. Your smartphone is not required for data transmission.
