What effects does the shutdown of the UMTS mobile communications network (3G) in my country have on the use of MINI Connected Services?

Since 2021, mobile communications networks with the UMTS standard (3G) have been shut down in many countries worldwide. Depending on the country, model, production date and equipment of your MINI, the shutdown will affect the use of MINI Connected Services in your vehicle. You can continue to use the "intelligent emergency call" and the "legal emergency call" without restriction in your MINI. In your MINI system with main menu with displays in the form of tiles (ID6) and the option "Wi-Fi hotspot" (SA 6WD) or "telephony with wireless charging" (SA 6NW), you can continue to use all MINI Connected Services without restriction. In your MINI with a production date before 07/2017, there are restrictions on the use of the "MINI Online" and "Real Time Traffic Information" services; the "automatic map update" and "MINI Online speech processing" services can no longer be used depending on the model and equipment.
