Depending on the country, model and equipment of your MINI and your smartphone or smartwatch model, you can lock or unlock and start your MINI with the MINI Digital Key Plus. You can share the MINI Digital Key Plus with several persons.
Requirements:

The MINI Digital Key Plus must be activated in the Wallet app of your smartphone.
- You must be the main user of your MINI.

The recipient needs a compatible smartphone.

Your smartphone and the recipient require a mobile connection. Avoid places with poor mobile phone reception, such as underground car parks.
Important notes:
- You can also share your MINI Digital Key Plus between Apple iPhones and Android smartphones.
- The Wallet app on an Android smartphone or Apple iPhone of the main user displays an activation code that the recipient must enter once in the vehicle to activate the shared MINI Digital Key Plus. When using iMessage with an Apple iPhone, sending the activation code is optional.
- You can delete a shared MINI Digital Key Plus in the Wallet app on your smartphone. The user of the shared MINI Digital Key Plus can continue to use it until you unlock and lock your MINI with your vehicle key once. Alternatively, you can deactivate a shared MINI Digital Key Plus immediately in the vehicle.
- The recipient does not need a MINI ID.

- Open the Wallet app on your iPhone and select the MINI Digital Key Plus of your vehicle.
- Select the "Share" icon at the top right.
- Select the Messages app ("iMessage").
- If necessary, restrict the authorisations and activate an activation code for the recipient. If you use iMessage, you can also deactivate the activation code.
- Select "Continue".
- Select the desired recipient.
- Send the message. Press the side button twice to confirm.
- If necessary, transmit the activation code via "Call" or "Share".
- The recipient opens your short message or e-mail and opens the link to the Wallet app.
- If necessary, the recipient enters the activation code received and confirms with "Done".
- The recipient confirms with "Add vehicle key".
You will receive a message on your iPhone as soon as the MINI Digital Key Plus has been accepted on the recipient's smartphone.
- Open the Wallet app on your smartphone and select the MINI Digital Key Plus of your vehicle.
- Select the "Share" icon at the top right or "Share key".
- Select the Messages app ("Messages").
- Name the key to be shared and restrict the authorisations if necessary.
- Select "Share" and confirm your identity.
- Select the desired recipient.
- Send the message.
- Switch back to the Wallet app and transmit the activation code by calling or using the "Share" icon via the Messages app.
- The recipient opens your message and clicks on the link.
- The recipient selects "Add vehicle key" and confirms twice with "Done".
- The recipient selects the following on the MINI Interaction Unit: Apps menu > "VEHICLE" (menu bar at the top) > "Key" > "Activate", enters the activation code received and confirms with "OK".
You will receive a message on your smartphone as soon as the MINI Digital Key Plus has been accepted on the recipient's smartphone.
