MINI how-to guide: This is how you change the Lane Departure Warning settings in your MINI with Operating System 9.

The Lane Departure Warning in your MINI with Operating System 9 warns you if your vehicle is about to leave the road or driving lane by means of a vibration in the steering wheel and by displaying warnings in the MINI Interaction Unit. Depending on your settings, an automatic steering intervention helps to keep the vehicle in the driving lane.

Requirements:

  • Lane Departure Warning is part of the standard equipment (MINI Connected Base) of your MINI with Operating System 9.

Important notes:

  • The system does not warn if you use the turn indicator in the corresponding direction before leaving the driving lane.

  • Depending on the national-market version, the system is automatically active each time a journey starts.

  • The system uses your vehicle's cameras and radar sensors. The lane boundary must be detected by the camera.

  • If the function is restricted, a Check Control message may be displayed. Depending on the national-market version, a yellow warning light will also light up.

  • The system does not relieve you from your responsibility to assess the traffic situation correctly. Due to system limits, the system cannot react appropriately in all traffic situations. There is risk of accident, danger of injury and danger of property damage. Adapt your driving style to the traffic conditions, observe the traffic situation and remain ready to steer and brake at all times so that you can actively intervene if necessary.

System limits:

  • The system warns from a minimum speed. The minimum speed is country-specific and is displayed in the MINI Interaction Unit.
  • Depending on the equipment and national-market version, the system intervenes in the speed range up to 210 km/h by means of an active steering intervention.
  • The system limits of the collision warning systems apply.

The availability, range of functions, operating principle and system limits vary depending on the country of delivery and equipment of your MINI.

    Step 1:
Press the direct access button "Driving settings menu" in the control centre.

Alternatively, select the following in the MINI system: Apps menu > "VEHICLE" (menu bar at the top) > "Driving settings".

    Step 2:

    Select "Driver assistance".

    Step 3:
    Select "Safety and warnings".

    Step 4:
    Select "Lane Departure Warning".

    Step 5:
Select the desired settings for the warning ("Expanded", "In dangerous situations", "Off") and, depending on the equipment, the steering intervention ("On"/"Off").

Note: To quickly deactivate Lane Departure Warning with steering intervention, press the Driving settings button in the centre console and then: "Lane Departure Warning" > "Yes, deactivate now".
