MINI how-to guide: This is how you reset the settings for the collision warning systems in your MINI with Operating System 9 to the recommended settings.

Depending on the equipment, your MINI with Operating System 9 has assistance systems to help you avoid an imminent collision. You can reset the settings of these systems to the recommended factory settings.

Requirements:

  • Lane Change Warning, rear collision warning, exit warning for objects approaching from behind, Front Collision Warning with brake intervention and Lane Departure Warning with lane return (depending on country of delivery) are all part of the standard equipment (MINI Connected Base) of your MINI with Operating System 9.
  • Your MINI with Operating System 9 requires optional equipment for the exit warning for objects approaching from the front or behind, Wrong-way Warning, Side Collision Warning, Road Priority Warning and Emergency Stop Assistant.

Please note: The systems do not relieve you from your responsibility to assess the traffic situation correctly. Due to system limits, the systems cannot react appropriately in all traffic situations. There is risk of accident, danger of injury and danger of property damage. Adapt your driving style to the traffic conditions, observe the traffic situation and remain ready to steer and brake at all times so that you can actively intervene if necessary.

Step 1:
Press the direct access button "Driving settings menu" in the control centre.

Alternatively, select the following in the MINI system: Apps menu > "VEHICLE" (menu bar at the top) > "Driving settings".

 

Step 2:

Select "Driver assistance".

 

Step 3:

Select "Safety and warnings".

 

Step 4:

Select "Reset".
