MINI how-to guide: This is how you switch the 3D camera view of the parking assistance systems on or off in your MINI with Operating System 9.

The parking assistance systems in your MINI with Operating System 9 support you when parking and manoeuvring or reversing by means of various camera views, among other things. In the 3D view, a circular path around the top view of the vehicle is displayed in the selection window. Fixed perspectives can be selected on the circular path.

Requirements:

  • Your MINI with Operating System 9 requires the option "Parking Assistant Plus" (SA 5DN) for the 3D camera view.
  • The boot lid or tailgate must be closed.

Important notes:

  • The 3D view combines images from the front camera, the Rear View Camera and the exterior mirror cameras in your MINI to create an image of the surroundings.

  • Parking view is automatically activated on the MINI Interaction Unit when you press the Parking Assist button in the centre console control panel or select selector lever position "R" when the drive-ready state is switched on.

  • The current perspective is indicated by a camera icon on the circular path.

  • The objects visible on the MINI Interaction Unit may be closer than they are displayed. Do not use the MINI Interaction Unit to estimate the distance to the objects.

System limits:

  • The system limits of the cameras apply.
  • Due to the angles of view, the cameras cannot see the area under your vehicle.
  • The systems cannot detect very low obstacles or protruding objects that are higher up, e.g. wall protrusions.

The range of functions and operating principle of the parking assistance systems vary depending on the country of delivery and the equipment of your MINI.

 

Step 1:

Press the Parking Assist button in the centre console control panel.

 

Step 2:

Select "3D" in the upper selection area of the MINI Interaction Unit.
