MINI how-to guide: This is how you switch the side view of the parking assistance systems on or off in your MINI with Operating System 9.

The parking assistance systems in your MINI with Operating System 9 support you when parking and manoeuvring or reversing by means of various camera views, among other things. The side view helps you position your vehicle next to the kerb or other lateral obstacles by displaying the lateral vehicle surroundings.

Requirements:

  • Your MINI with Operating System 9 requires the option "Parking Assistant Plus" (SA 5DN) for the side view.
  • The boot lid or tailgate must be closed.

Important notes:

  • The side view looks from the back to the front and automatically focuses on possible obstacles in case of danger.
  • You can select the side view for the driver's or passenger's side.

  • The parking view with automatic camera perspective is automatically activated in the MINI Interaction Unit when you press the Parking Assist button in the centre console control panel or select selector lever position "R" when the drive-ready state is switched on.

  • The objects visible on the MINI Interaction Unit may be closer than they are displayed. Do not use the MINI Interaction Unit to estimate the distance to the objects.

System limits:

  • The system limits of the cameras apply.
  • Due to the angles of view, the cameras cannot see the area under your vehicle.
  • The systems cannot detect very low obstacles or protruding objects that are higher up, e.g. wall protrusions.

The range of functions and operating principle of the parking assistance systems vary depending on the country of delivery and the equipment of your MINI.

Step 1:

Press the Parking Assist button in the centre console control panel.

 

Step 2:

Select the camera icon for the desired side of vehicle in the selection window on the MINI Interaction Unit.
