MINI how-to guide: This is how you switch the trailer tow hitch view of the parking assistance systems on or off in your MINI with Operating System 9.

The parking assistance systems in your MINI with Operating System 9 support you when parking and manoeuvring or reversing by means of various camera views, among other things. To make it easier to attach a trailer, the trailer tow hitch view enlarges the image area of the trailer tow hitch.

Requirements:

  • For the trailer tow hitch view, your MINI with Operating System 9 requires the option "Parking Assistant Plus" (SA 5DN) and the option "Trailer tow hitch with removable ball head" (SA 235).
  • The boot lid or tailgate must be closed.

Important notes:

  • When enlarging the image area, please note that some obstacles may no longer be visible in the image area.
  • Two coloured arcs in the view on the MINI Interaction Unit help you to estimate the distance between the trailer and the trailer tow hitch.
  • A docking line depending on the wheel angle helps you to target the trailer with the trailer tow hitch.
  • The parking view with automatic camera perspective is automatically activated on the MINI Interaction Unit when you press the Parking Assist button in the centre console control panel when the drive-ready state is switched on.
  • The objects visible on the MINI Interaction Unit may be closer than they are displayed. Do not use the MINI Interaction Unit to estimate the distance to the objects.

System limits:

  • The system limits of the cameras apply.
  • Due to the angles of view, the cameras cannot see the area under your vehicle.
  • The systems cannot detect very low obstacles or protruding objects that are higher up, e.g. wall protrusions.

The range of functions and operating principle of the parking assistance systems vary depending on the country of delivery and the equipment of your MINI.

Step 1:

Press the Parking Assist button in the centre console control panel.

 

Step 2:

Select "Trailer tow hitch" in the upper selection area on the MINI Interaction Unit.
