The Manoeuvre Assistant in your MINI with Operating System 9 supports you in recurring parking and manoeuvring situations. You can record up to ten parking and manoeuvring actions and then have the system carry them out automatically. When your MINI reaches the activation area on the route of a stored manoeuvre, you will be able to activate the manoeuvre on the MINI Interaction Unit. After activation, the system takes over the vehicle control and executes the manoeuvre automatically.

Requirements:

  • Your MINI with Operating System 9 requires the option "Parking Assistant Professional" (SA 5DW).
  • The one-time calibration process of the camera after delivery of the vehicle must be completed.
  • You must have recorded a manoeuvre for the desired route.

Important notes:

  • The system uses your vehicle's cameras and ultrasonic sensors.
  • The detection range for a manoeuvre is divided into the following areas:
    • Approach range: In a radius of about 8 m around the path of a stored manoeuvre, the system begins localisation in the background.
    • Close range: A stored manoeuvre is displayed on the MINI Interaction Unit within a radius of approx. 2 m around the route.
    • Activation range: The stored manoeuvre can be started on the MINI Interaction Unit within a radius of approx. 1 m.
  • Any intervention other than pressing the brake pedal will result in the termination of the system.
  • At the end of the parking manoeuvre, the selector lever position "P" is engaged.
  • You can also carry out recorded manoeuvres using the "Remote Control Parking" function in the MINI App.
  • The system does not relieve you from your responsibility to assess the traffic situation correctly. Due to system limits, the system cannot react appropriately in all traffic situations. There is risk of accident, danger of injury and danger of property damage. Adapt your driving style to the traffic conditions, observe the traffic situation and remain ready to steer and brake at all times so that you can actively intervene if necessary.

System limits:

  • The system limits of the parking assistance systems, the cameras and the ultrasonic sensors apply.
  • Functional limitations may occur, e.g. in the following situations:
    • With poor mobile connection.
    • On steep inclines or downhill gradients.
    • For recorded manoeuvres where the required minimum distance to objects cannot be maintained.

Depending on the country of delivery and equipment of your MINI, the availability and the range of functions may vary.

Step 1:

Drive your MINI into the activation range of the stored manoeuvre and stop.

Step 2:

On the MINI Interaction Unit, select "Start [name of stored manoeuvre]" ("Road with star and play arrow" icon).

A green icon for the Manoeuvre Assistant on the MINI Interaction Unit indicates that the system is executing the manoeuvre. Follow the instructions on the MINI Interaction Unit. You can brake during the manoeuvre or abort the manoeuvre manually, e.g. by lightly pressing the accelerator pedal twice or by selecting "Abort [name of stored manoeuvre]" on the MINI Interaction Unit.
