Park Distance Control (PDC) in your MINI with Operating System 9 supports you when parking or leaving parking spaces with acoustic and visual warnings of obstacles. You can adjust the volume of the acoustic warning or, depending on the national-market version, switch it off temporarily.
Requirements:
- Park Distance Control (PDC) is part of the standard equipment (MINI Connected Base) of your MINI with Operating System 9.
Important notes:
- Park Distance Control (PDC) emits an acoustic warning when a collision is imminent at a distance of approx. 0.7 m from the object, and already at a distance of approx. 1.5 m for objects behind your vehicle.
- The shorter the distance to an object, the shorter the intervals of the intermittent tones. If the distance to a detected object in front of and behind the vehicle is less than approx. 20 cm, a continuous tone sounds.
- The intermittent tones and the continuous tone are switched off when selector lever position P is engaged and, depending on the national-market version, after a short time when the vehicle is stationary.
- Depending on the national-market version, you can temporarily switch off the acoustic warning during the active parking manoeuvre. To do this, press the icon on the right-hand side of the MINI Interaction Unit. When Park Distance Control is switched on again, the acoustic warning is automatically switched on again.
- The acoustic warnings are supported by visual warnings in the MINI Interaction Unit when approaching an object.
- The system does not relieve you from your responsibility to assess the traffic situation correctly. Due to system limits, the system cannot react appropriately in all traffic situations. There is risk of accident, danger of injury and danger of property damage. Adapt your driving style to the traffic conditions, observe the traffic situation and remain ready to steer and brake at all times so that you can actively intervene if necessary.
System limits:
- The range of the system is approx. 2 m, depending on the obstacle and environmental factors.
- The system limits of the parking assistance systems apply.
The range of functions, operating principle and system limits vary depending on the country of delivery and the equipment of your MINI.
