MINI how-to guide: This is how you switch the automatic activation of Park Distance Control (PDC) on or off in your MINI with Operating System 9.

Requirements:

• Park Distance Control (PDC) is part of the standard equipment (MINI Connected Base) of your MINI with Operating System 9.

Important notes:

• The system switches on automatically in the following situations:

  • When the drive-ready state is switched on, when selector lever position "R" is engaged.

  • When approaching detected obstacles, when the speed is lower than approx. 4 km/h. The activation distance depends on the respective situation.

• The system switches off automatically when driving forwards if a certain distance or speed is exceeded.
• You can also switch Park Distance Control (PDC) on and off manually and adjust the volume of the acoustic warning and, depending on the national-market version, switch it off temporarily.
• The system does not relieve you from your responsibility to assess the traffic situation correctly. Due to system limits, the system cannot react appropriately in all traffic situations. There is risk of accident, danger of injury and danger of property damage. Adapt your driving style to the traffic conditions, observe the traffic situation and remain ready to steer and brake at all times so that you can actively intervene if necessary.

System limits:

• The range of the system is approx. 2 metres, depending on the obstacle and environmental factors.
• The system limits of the parking assistance systems apply.
