MINI how-to guide: This is how you switch the additional displays in the image of the Rear View Camera in the MINI Interaction Unit of your MINI with Operating System 9 on or off.

The Rear View Camera in your MINI with Operating System 9 assists you with reverse parking and manoeuvring. For this purpose, the area behind the vehicle is displayed on the MINI Interaction Unit. Additional displays can be shown in the camera image, e.g. parking assistance lines and obstacle markings, to make manoeuvring and parking easier.

Requirements:

  • The additional displays in the image of the Rear View Camera on the MINI Interaction Unit are part of the standard equipment (MINI Connected Base) of your MINI with Operating System 9.

Important notes:

  • Several additional displays can be active at the same time.
  • This is how you use parking assistance lines: Position your vehicle so that the red turning circle line leads to the parking space boundary. Then turn your steering wheel so that the green driving lane line covers the turning circle line.
  • Graduated obstacle markings in the colours green, yellow and red indicate the distance between your vehicle and the obstacle.
  • The function may be restricted, for example, in the following situations:
    • With the door open.
    • With the boot lid or tailgate open.
    • When the exterior mirrors are folded in.
  • Grey shaded areas with an icon in the camera display indicate areas that are not currently displayed, e.g. an open door.

System limits:

  • The system limits of the cameras and sensors apply.
  • Due to the angles of view, the cameras cannot see the area under your vehicle.
  • The systems cannot detect very low obstacles or protruding objects that are higher up, e.g. wall protrusions.

The range of functions and operating principle of the parking assistance systems vary depending on the country of delivery and the equipment of your MINI.

Step 1:
Press the Driving settings button in the centre console.

Alternatively, select the following in the MINI system: Apps menu > "VEHICLE" (menu bar at the top) > "Driving settings".

Step 2:

Select "Driver assistance".

Step 3:

Select "Parking".

Step 4:

Switch "Parking assistance lines" and/or "Obstacle marking" on or off.
