MINI how-to guide: This is how you activate or deactivate Plug & Charge in your MINI with Operating System 9.

With the "Plug & Charge" function, your MINI electric vehicle with Operating System 9 authenticates itself independently at public charging stations compatible with Plug & Charge via your charging contract stored in the vehicle. The charging process starts automatically after inserting the charging cable. No need to activate the charging process with an app or charging card.

Requirements:

  • You need a charging contract with the "Plug & Charge" option.
  • The charging contract must be saved in your MINI.
  • The charging station must support Plug & Charge.
  • Depending on the equipment, your MINI may require a software upgrade at your MINI Service Partner.

Important notes:

  • You can use up to five different charging contracts with Plug & Charge in your MINI electric vehicle.

  • As the main user, you can exclude all or individual co-users of your MINI from using Plug & Charge.
  • Further information on Plug & Charge can be found in the MINI App.

Plug & Charge is available in many European countries, in the USA and in Canada for MINI electric vehicles with MINI Operating System 9.

Step 1:

Open the Apps menu.

 

Step 2:

Select "Charging".

 

Step 3:

Select Settings (gear icon).

 

Step 4:

Select "Plug & Charge".

 

Step 5:

Activate or deactivate "Plug & Charge".
