How far has the BMW Group come with the development of hydrogen-powered production vehicles?

After four years of development, a pilot fleet of the BMW iX5 Hydrogen has been on the road since March 2023. The pilot fleet is deployed worldwide for testing and demonstration purposes. In this way, the BMW development team gains valuable practical knowledge about the vehicle and the everyday use of the pioneering hydrogen fuel cell drive. For the development of hydrogen mobility, the BMW Group is involved in worldwide organisations and associations such as the Hydrogen Council and, as an associated partner of “H2 Mobility Deutschland GmbH”, supports the development of hydrogen refuelling infrastructure in Germany.
