MINI how-to guide: This is how you manually trigger the intelligent emergency call in your MINI with Operating System 9.

Your MINI with Operating System 9 is equipped with sensors that automatically trigger an emergency call in an emergency. If, for example, an airbag is triggered, a voice contact to the MINI emergency call centre is automatically established via the SIM card installed in the vehicle. The vehicle data transmitted indicates the current vehicle position and the severity of the accident and is transmitted to the nearest emergency response centre. You can also trigger the intelligent emergency call manually, e.g. to call for help for other road users.

Requirements:

  • The "intelligent emergency call" service must be booked and active in your MINI.
  • Your MINI requires a mobile connection.
  • Your MINI must be operational.

Important notes:

  • The LED lights up green when the emergency call has been triggered. You can cancel the emergency call on the MINI Interaction Unit.

  • The LED flashes green when the connection to the emergency call number has been established. The emergency call can only be terminated by the emergency call centre.

  • If queries from the emergency call centre remain unanswered, emergency response measures are automatically initiated.
  • You can test the manual emergency call in your MINI.
  • If the intelligent emergency call is not available in your country or with the equipment of your MINI, the legal emergency call (EU eCall) is automatically made within Europe to the emergency call number 112.

Step 1:
Open the cover flap of the SOS button in the headlining.

Step 2:
Press and hold the SOS button until the LED in the area of the button lights up green.

Step 3:
Answer the questions of the emergency call centre employee.
