How do I add several users to my MINI in the MINI App and what functions do main and joint users have?

Depending on the model and equipment, one or more users can add the same vehicle via their respective MINI ID in the MINI App (multimapping).

The first MINI ID used to add a vehicle in the app is automatically designated as the main user. Additional users can be invited as joint users and will have a limited range of functions.

As the main user, you can conveniently manage all joint users in the MINI App by proceeding as follows:
  1. Select the "Vehicle" tab.
  2. Go to "Vehicle configuration" or the "Vehicle control centre".
  3. Open "User management".

Here you can view, add or delete joint users.

For vehicles with MINI Operating System 9, other users simply log onto the vehicle with their MINI ID and scan the displayed QR code with the MINI App. The link is established automatically.

Important note:
For MINI vehicles with MINI Controller and MINI operating system with tile menu (ID6), only one MINI ID can be linked to the vehicle in the MINI App. Multimapping is not possible in this case.

  • If you do not have a MINI ID yet, simply follow the welcome message on your vehicle's control display.
  • If you are already using the MINI App and log onto the vehicle with your MINI ID, the vehicle will automatically be added to your garage.
