If content or information is not displayed correctly or is out of date in the MINI App or in an app in the vehicle, clearing the cache might help. In this process, cached data is removed and then reloaded.
Your personal data and login details will generally be retained.
Clearing the cache of the MINI App on Android
To update the display in the MINI App on an Android smartphone, please proceed as follows:
- Open the settings on your device.
- Select Apps or Applications.
- Look for the MINI App in the list.
- Tap the MINI App.
- Open the "Memory" or "Memory capacity and cache" section.
- Select Clear cache.
Once the cache has been cleared, the MINI App will reload the content. This resets and updates the displays.
Clearing the cache of the MINI App on an iPhone
To update the display in the MINI App on an iPhone, please proceed as follows:
- Open the settings on your iPhone.
- Select General.
- Tap iPhone memory.
- Select the MINI App.
- Tap Archive app.
- Confirm the process by selecting "Archive app".
- Then select Reinstall app.
The MINI App is reinstalled. This resets cached data and reloads the content.
Clearing the cache of an app in the vehicle
The cache for individual apps can also be cleared directly in the vehicle. This may be helpful if the content of an app in the control display is not loading correctly or is not being updated.
To do this, follow these steps in the MINI iDrive operating system:
- Open the App menu in the vehicle.
- Select All apps.
- Open the Memory section.
- Tap Apps.
- Select the app you want from the list.
- Tap Clear cache.
This will clear the cache of the selected app, after which the content will be reloaded.
Please note that clearing the cache only removes cached data in order to reload the content. Personal and login data is not deleted when the cache is cleared.
