MINI how-to guide: This is how you save the charge mode for your MINI electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle in the MINI App.

With the Charge & Climate Timer in the MINI App, you can save a charge mode for the charging process of your MINI electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle. In the "Charge immediately" charge mode, the charging process always starts immediately after plugging in to a charging station. In the "Charge in time frame" charge mode, the charging process is controlled so that the charging target is reached at the set departure time.

    Requirements:

    • The Remote Services must be booked and active for your vehicle.
    • Your MINI must be added to your MINI ID in the MINI App.
    • You must have authorised data transfer and vehicle tracking in the "Privacy" menu in the MINI system.
    • Your smartphone and your MINI require a mobile connection. Avoid places with poor mobile phone reception, such as underground car parks.

    Important notes:

    • Your settings are saved for the MINI electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle active in the MINI App.
    • In the "Charge in time frame" charge mode, the charging process is controlled so that the charging target is reached at the set departure time. If the time frame is not sufficient to have your vehicle fully charged up to the desired charging target at the stored departure time, your vehicle will also charge outside this time frame.
    • Improper handling of electrical current can lead to electric shock due to high voltages or high currents. Even if it is indicated that the high-voltage battery is empty, the high-voltage system is still under high voltage. There is danger of injury, risk of fire, danger to life and danger of property damage. Observe the general safety regulations when handling electrical current. Never touch or modify live parts, e.g. orange-coloured high-voltage cables, even if the high-voltage battery is empty.

    Depending on the model and equipment of your MINI, the availability and the range of functions may vary.

    Step 1:

    Select "Charge & Climate settings" (CHARGE).

     

    Step 2:

    Tap on "Charge mode".

     

    Step 3:

    Select "Charge immediately" or "Charge in time frame".

     

    Step 4:

    If you have selected "Charge in time frame", set the desired times for the start and end of the time frame in which charging is to take place.

     

    Step 5:

    Confirm with "READY".

     

    Step 6:

    Confirm with "APPLY TO MY MINI".

     

    Please note: Plug in a charging cable at the appropriate time.
