With the "Remote Control Parking" function of the MINI App, you can park your MINI with Operating System 9 remotely forwards or backwards, or leave parking spaces. This allows you to park your MINI comfortably in tight parking spaces or garages.
Requirements:
- Your MINI with Operating System 9 requires the option "Parking Assistant Professional" (SA 5DW).
- The Remote Services must be booked and activated.
- You must have set up and activated a MINI Digital Key Plus on your compatible smartphone.
- Bluetooth® must be activated on your smartphone.
- Park Assist has detected a suitable parking space.
- You have engaged selector lever position "P", selected "Park with MINI App" on the MINI Interaction Unit, and you and all passengers have left the vehicle.
- All doors and the boot lid or tailgate of your MINI are closed.
- You must be within 6 metres of your vehicle during the parking manoeuvre.
Important notes:
- Park Assist supports reverse parking parallel to the road (parallel parking) and reverse or forward parking perpendicular to the road (bay parking).
- In order to detect a parking space, the cameras and sensors of your MINI must detect an object with a length of at least approx. 1 m as the boundary of the space, e.g. a parked vehicle.
- A parallel parking space must be at least as long as your vehicle plus approx. 0.8 m, the minimum width is approx. 1.5 m.
- A bay parking space must be at least as long as your vehicle, the minimum width is the width of your vehicle plus approx. 0.7 m.
- To perform a parking manoeuvre from outside your MINI using the MINI App, you must be within 6 metres of your vehicle and Bluetooth® must be activated on your smartphone.
- The "Remote Control Parking" function is only available for a limited time after leaving the vehicle.
- You can continue a parking manoeuvre started in the vehicle using the "Remote Control Parking" function in the MINI App.
- You can continue a parking manoeuvre in the vehicle that was started in the MINI App using the "Remote Control Parking" function.
- You can correct the parking position in parking spaces that are at least 0.6 m wider than your vehicle by manually manoeuvring with the MINI App.
- The low-beam headlight switches on during the parking manoeuvre.
- The system does not relieve you from your responsibility to assess the traffic situation correctly. Due to system limits, the system cannot react appropriately in all traffic situations. There is risk of accident, danger of injury and danger of property damage. Actively intervene via the MINI App if required.
System limits:
- The parking manoeuvre may be interrupted, e.g. if the Bluetooth® connection is faulty.
- If the vehicle battery is heavily discharged, the "Remote Control Parking" function may not be available. Follow the instructions in the MINI App.
- Depending on the environmental conditions, manoeuvring in a parking space with the MINI App is not always available.
- The system cannot detect very low obstacles or protruding objects that are higher up, e.g. wall protrusions.
The availability and range of functions of the parking assistance systems vary depending on the country of delivery and the equipment of your MINI.
Step 1:
Open the MINI App and select "Remote Control Parking".
Step 2:
Select the desired parking manoeuvre and the desired parking direction and confirm with "START MANOEUVRE".
Step 3:
Tilt your smartphone forwards and backwards until the circle overlaps the displayed area.
Step 4:
Press and hold the blue button to execute the manoeuvre. Follow the instructions on your smartphone until your vehicle has reached the desired parking position.
If necessary, stop your vehicle by releasing the blue button.
Step 5:
Once you have reached the desired parking position, end the parking manoeuvre by pressing "End".
