MINI how-to guide: This is how you activate or deactivate the Drive Recorder in your MINI with Operating System 9.

If your MINI with Operating System 9 detects an accident situation, the Drive Recorder saves a 360° video recording including the date, the exact time, your driven speed and the GPS position via the cameras of the assistance systems. You can also capture beautiful moments on the road with the Drive Recorder, e.g. particularly impressive landscapes or a section on the racetrack. Depending on the country of delivery and equipment of your MINI, the Drive Recorder also includes the "anti-theft recorder".

Requirements:

  • Your MINI with Operating System 9 requires the option "Parking Assistant Plus" (SA 5DN) or "Parking Assistant Professional" (SA 5DW) ex works.
  • Your vehicle must be added to your MINI ID in the MINI App.

Important notes:

  • During the activation process, you must activate the theft notification and accept the predefined settings for the Drive Recorder in the legal information. Alternatively, you can save individual settings for recording type and duration, for example, and consent to data transfer to the MINI App.
  • Depending on the country of travel, video recordings with the Drive Recorder and/or their utilisation may not be permitted.

The availability, range of functions and operating principle vary depending on the country of delivery and the equipment of your MINI.

Step 1:

Open the Apps menu.


Step 2:

Select "All".


Step 3:
Select "Drive Recorder".


Step 4:
Accept the Privacy Policy.

 

Step 5:

Select "Settings".

 

Step 6:

Activate or deactivate "Allow recordings".
