MINI how-to guide: This is how you export a recording from the Drive Recorder in your MINI with Operating System 9 to your smartphone or a USB device.

With the "Drive Recorder" vehicle app, the cameras of your MINI with Operating System 9 create a video of the surroundings in a 360° view. Recording can be started manually or automatically, e.g. if the vehicle sensors detect an accident or theft. Stored recordings can be played back on the MINI Interaction Unit and exported to a smartphone or a USB device.

Requirements:

  • The Drive Recorder must be activated in your MINI.
  • Your mobile device must be connected to your MINI via Wi-Fi and Bluetooth® or USB.
  • Your vehicle must be added to your MINI ID in the MINI App on your smartphone.
  • You must allow the MINI App access to the photo library of your smartphone.

Available depending on the country of delivery for MINI models with MINI Operating System 9 and the option "Parking Assistant Plus" (SA 5DN) or "Parking Assistant Professional" (SA 5DW) ex works.

Important notes:

  • The amount of video that can be stored depends on the memory capacity available on the mobile device.

  • If USB storage devices are overwritten several times, there may be restrictions when exporting recordings.

  • The preferred file system for USB storage devices is "NTFS". There may be restrictions with other file systems.

  • The storage of recordings on a smartphone depends on the quality of the Wi-Fi connection. The function may be restricted or unavailable if the connection is poor.

  • Depending on the country of travel, video recordings with the Drive Recorder and/or their utilisation may not be permitted.

The availability, range of functions and operating principle vary depending on the country of delivery and the equipment of your MINI.

Step 1:
Open the Apps menu.

 

Step 2:

Select "All".

 

Step 3:

Select "Drive Recorder".

 

Step 4:

Select "Recordings".

 

Step 5:

Select the desired recording.

 

Step 6:

Select camera views if required: "Front", "Right", "Rear" or "Left".

 

Step 7:

Select "Export recordings" and follow the instructions on the MINI Interaction Unit.
