What is a PCID and what do I need it for?

The Provisioning Certificate Identifier (PCID) is a unique identification number that serves as a digital "fingerprint" for your MINI and is used for automated charging via "Plug & Charge". It forms part of a security certificate stored in the vehicle and enables clear identification at compatible charging stations without the need for additional authentication via a charging card or the MINI App.

To use "Plug & Charge", the PCID is linked to your charging account so that the charging process is automatically authorised and billed directly.
