The high-voltage charging socket is used to charge the high-voltage battery unit in the fully electric MINI Cooper (2024). Depending on the national-market version, different installation locations and charging standards are used. The connections for external DC and AC charging of the high-voltage battery are located in the right rear side panel of your fully electric MINI Cooper (2024). In addition to charging, the high-voltage charging socket enables other functions, such as locking the charging plug or visualising the charging status via the charging status indicator. The charging socket flap is locked or unlocked via the central locking function. The charging plug is also electrically unlocked by unlocking the vehicle or by executing the “Stop charging process” function. Any charging process that may be ongoing will be stopped before that. Furthermore, the charging process can be ended using the MINI App, which unlocks the charging cable. The MINI Cooper (2024) also has a charging cable release key in the charging flap opening. This can be used to end the charging process and unlock the cable.
