How can I prevent my MINI from unlocking automatically at home?

To prevent your MINI from unlocking automatically at your home address, you can activate the "Exclude home" function.

If this function is activated, automatic unlocking via Comfort Access is suppressed within the vicinity (500-metre radius) of the stored address. You can still unlock your MINI as usual using the vehicle key, the MINI Digital Key or by pressing the door handle.

To activate the function, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the "Vehicle" menu.
  2. Select "Doors and windows".
  3. Open the "Opening & closing" section.
  4. Activate "Exclude home".


Note: The "Exclude home" function is available for MINI models with MINI Operating System 9 (from software version 03/2025) and the Comfort Access optional equipment (OE 322). To use this function, the relevant home address must first be saved in your MINI's navigation system.
