If you have activated the "Passive entry" setting with the MINI Digital Key Plus in your MINI with Operating System 9, no authentication is usually required for unlocking when approaching. The device can remain in your pocket. However, if you use the "Near Field Communication" (NFC) mobile standard and hold the device to the door handle on the driver's side, you must unlock the device. You must also unlock if you have deactivated the "Express mode" setting with the MINI Digital Key Plus. Regardless of your settings, it is always possible that you will be asked for authentication for no apparent reason. This is a safety function of the operating system. After successful unlocking, the set operating principle should be active again. Should the normal functionality of your MINI Digital Key Plus not be available, please note the possible notices on the display of your Apple iPhone.
