Depending on the country, model and equipment of your MINI with Operating System 9 and your smartphone or smartwatch model, you can lock or unlock and start your MINI with the MINI Digital Key Plus.
If your country and your mobile device support the "ultra-wideband" (UWB) mobile standard, your MINI will unlock automatically when you approach it. To start the engine, your mobile device just needs to be in the passenger area.
If your country or your mobile device does not support the "ultra-wideband" (UWB) mobile standard, data is transmitted via the "Near Field Communication" (NFC) mobile standard. You then need to hold your smartphone or smartwatch against the door handle to unlock the vehicle and place it in the smartphone tray to start the engine.
