In case of a service appointment, you can hand over your MINI with MINI Operating System 9 and MINI Digital Key Plus to your Service Partner without handing over your smartphone. To do this, activate the Service Card supplied for the MINI Digital Key Plus. To activate it, you need your smartphone with a MINI Digital Key Plus or a physical key in the passenger area. Then place the Service Card in the smartphone tray of your MINI and follow the instructions on the MINI Interaction Unit. Alternatively, select: Apps menu > "Key" > "Service Card" > "Activate Service Card". Hand over the activated Service Card to your Service Partner at the service appointment. They can use it to lock and unlock your MINI and start the engine, while you can carry your smartphone with your MINI Digital Key Plus with you outside the vehicle. Please note: Only activate the Service Card when required and then deactivate it again. Keeping a deactivated Service Card in the vehicle is safe. An activated Service Card unlocks and starts your vehicle, so for security reasons you should keep it in a safe place outside your vehicle.
