The scope of delivery of your MINI with Operating System 9 (from 07/2025 or 09/2025 depending on the model) includes a Setup Card and a Service Card for the MINI Digital Key Plus.
The Setup Card makes it easier to set up the main key for the MINI Digital Key Plus on your smartphone. In an emergency, you can also use the Setup Card to lock and unlock your vehicle (range of functions corresponds to the integrated key). For security reasons, you should therefore keep the Setup Card in a safe place outside your vehicle after setting up a MINI Digital Key Plus.
The Service Card functions as a fully-fledged vehicle key. You can use the Service Card, for example, to hand over your vehicle to your MINI Service Partner, MINI Roadside Assistance or a valet parking service. It is deactivated when the vehicle is delivered and, for security reasons, it should only be activated when required and then deactivated again. Keeping a deactivated Service Card in the vehicle is safe. For security reasons, you should keep an activated Service Card in a safe place outside your vehicle.
Both cards use the "Near Field Communication" (NFC) mobile standard for wireless data transfer with your MINI or your smartphone.
With the option "Comfort Access" (SA 322), the MINI Countryman and the MINI Cooper with a combustion engine from 07/2025, the MINI Cooper Electric and the MINI Aceman Electric from 09/2025 will be delivered worldwide with only one physical vehicle key (depending on the model, different in Brazil, China, Canada and the USA), a Setup Card for the MINI Digital Key Plus and a Service Card. The MINI Cooper Convertible will continue to be delivered with two physical vehicle keys and a Service Card, but without a Setup Card for the Digital Key.
