The MINI Digital Key Plus uses "ultra-wideband" (UWB) digital mobile technology and Bluetooth®. When you approach your MINI with Operating System 9, it is automatically unlocked, starts a welcome scenario and activates all functions for the vehicle start.
If the automatic unlocking of your MINI permanently does not work when you approach it, check the settings for the MINI Digital Key Plus in the Wallet app on your smartphone. On Apple devices, you can find the settings on the "rear side" of the digital key by clicking on the "i" icon. On Android devices, these are usually located directly below the map. Activate the "Passive entry" setting and check whether the unlocking function works when approaching. If necessary, also check the settings for Comfort Access in the vehicle. Activate Comfort Access both when approaching and when leaving.
Further information on system limits and restrictions on Comfort Access can be found here.
Please note: If your country or your mobile device does not support the "ultra-wideband" (UWB) mobile standard, data is transmitted via the "Near Field Communication" (NFC) mobile standard. You then need to hold your smartphone or smartwatch against the door handle to unlock the vehicle and place it in the smartphone tray to start the engine.
