Should you ever require roadside assistance and only have your MINI Digital Key or MINI Digital Key Plus with you, the service job can still be carried out securely and conveniently.
You can activate the MINI Service Card in the vehicle on the spot. This ensures that the service employee has the necessary access to the vehicle for the duration of the job. Once the activation is complete, you can simply hand the Service Card over to the mechanic who is providing roadside assistance.
Alternatively, you can temporarily share your MINI Digital Key or MINI Digital Key Plus. The Safe Share function is also available to you as part of this process. This is directly integrated into the sharing process and allows you to restrict access on an individual basis, for example by limiting the maximum speed or reducing certain vehicle functions. This allows you to retain control at all times and ensures that the vehicle is used only to the extent necessary. Further information on using Safe Share can be found in your Owner's Handbook.
Important note:
Once the service job has been completed and you are able to use your vehicle again, please deactivate the MINI Service Card in the vehicle and remove the shared MINI Digital Key or MINI Digital Key Plus from the service employee. This is how you can reliably prevent unauthorised access to your vehicle.
