What is the Attentiveness Assistant in my MINI and how does it work?

The Attentiveness Assistant helps you to recognise signs of waning concentration or fatigue whilst driving. To this end, the system analyses various pieces of information, such as individual driving and steering behaviour, the time, the duration of the journey, breaks taken during longer journeys and the current driving situation.

Depending on the vehicle equipment, additional information from the Driver Attention Camera (infrared camera) is used to assess the driver’s attention more accurately. Depending on the vehicle equipment, the information obtained may also be used by other driver assistance systems.

The Attentiveness Assistant is intended solely as an aid and does not relieve the driver of their responsibility to drive the vehicle at all times in an alert, well-rested and safe manner. The availability of individual features depends on the model, equipment, market and software version.
