Why does Park Distance Control warn me even when my MINI approaches a harmless obstacle?

Park Distance Control in your MINI supports you when reversing to avoid collisions at the rear and side of the vehicle. The ultrasonic sensors on the body of your MINI detect an obstacle, but cannot distinguish between dangerous and harmless obstacles. To prevent collisions, you should personally inspect obstacles and, if necessary, deactivate Park Distance Control via the key in the centre console to continue reversing in the event of a harmless obstacle.
