What does WLTP mean?

The "Worldwide harmonised Light Vehicles Test Procedure" (WLTP) is a new measuring procedure developed by experts from the European Union and Japan in accordance with the guidelines of the World Forum for Harmonisation of Vehicle Regulations of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) to determine exhaust emissions (pollutant and CO2 emissions) and fuel and power consumption of vehicles. The test procedure has been introduced in the European Union since 1 September 2017 and applies to passenger cars and light utility vehicles.
