How do I activate cost-optimised charging in my MINI and in the MINI App?

Once you have successfully set up and connected to a compatible provider, you can activate cost-optimised charging in your MINI or in the MINI App:

This is how you activate cost-optimised charging in your MINI:

  1. Open the charging settings.
  2. Under "Charge mode", select the "Optimised charging" option.
  3. Set the desired state of charge to ensure your mobility at all times.

To ensure that your provider can carry out cost-optimised charging, you will need to define a specific departure time. You can also set up to five regular departure times.

How to activate cost-optimised charging in the MINI App:

  1. Start the MINI App.
  2. Go to "Charge".
  3. Open the charging settings.
  4. Tap on "Charge mode".
  5. Select "Optimised".
  6. Enter up to five departure times.
  7. Save your changes using "Apply to my MINI".


Note: If the charge mode is not displayed in your MINI, cost-optimised charging takes place automatically in the background.

Important: Charging control via the charge mode is only available if the vehicle is linked to a compatible provider (see Setup).
