What does the "Optimised charging" charge mode mean in my MINI?

The 'Optimised charging' charge mode allows you to use cost-optimised charging with compatible providers.

With cost-optimised charging, a compatible electricity supplier or provider of a Home Energy Management System (HEMS) can assume the charging management of your MINI electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle at an approved location, such as your home. This is how the charging process is carried out automatically. Once a charging target and a departure time have been set for your next journey, your provider can take these into account to ensure your vehicle reaches the desired state of charge.
 
The charge mode can only be used if the conditions for cost-optimised charging are met: You need a smart electricity tariff from a compatible electricity provider or provider of a Home Energy Management System (HEMS) with charging control. You must also be registered as the main user for your vehicle in the MINI App. The setup must have been completed.

Note: If the charge mode is not displayed in your vehicle, cost-optimised charging will take place automatically in the background.
