How does energy recovery (recuperation) work in my MINI electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle?

The recuperation system in your MINI electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle converts the kinetic energy that is created during deceleration and braking into electricity, feeding the high-voltage battery. The intensity of the recuperation is automatically controlled by your vehicle. Depending on the model and equipment of your fully electric MINI, you can individually set the level of recuperation in gear selector position "D".
