How do I reduce charging losses when charging my MINI electric vehicle?

Charging your MINI electric vehicle results in charging losses. These depend on various factors, such as the charging power, the charging type (AC, DC or HPC) or the state of charge (SOC) and the temperature of the high-voltage battery. To reduce charging losses at DC charging stations, BMW recommends using the "prepare battery" function and preferably charging the high-voltage battery in the range between 10% and 80% of its capacity. The "prepare battery" function is available in the MINI App for fully electric MINI models with MINI Operating System 9 with software version 07/2024 or newer.
