What are the requirements for cost-optimised charging, and how is it set up?

To use cost-optimised charging, you will need a smart electricity tariff from a compatible electricity provider or a provider of a Home Energy Management System (HEMS) with charging control. You must also be registered as the main user for your vehicle in the MINI App.

The activation process starts in the app of your electricity provider or HEMS provider. From there you will be redirected to the MINI App login page and log in with your MINI ID. You will then select your vehicle.

Next, choose the location where you wish to use cost-optimised charging and confirm your authorisation for activation of the feature via your electricity provider.

Once the connection has been successfully established, you can adjust and save the settings for cost-optimised charging in the app of the electricity provider or HEMS provider.
