How can I unlock and lock the high-voltage charging socket of my MINI electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle?

In MINI electric or plug-in hybrid vehicle, the high-voltage battery is charged via the high-voltage charging socket. Depending on the high-voltage vehicle and country design, different installation locations and charging standards are used. For electric vehicles, the high-voltage charging socket is usually located where the fuel filler neck is located in a conventional vehicle. In addition to charging, the high-voltage charging socket enables other functions, such as locking the charging plug or visualising the charging status via the charging status indicator. The charging socket flap is locked or unlocked via the central locking function. The charging plug is also electrically unlocked by unlocking the vehicle or by executing the “Stop charging process” function. Any charging process that may be ongoing will be stopped before that.
