What does the "prepare battery" icon in the status field of the MINI Interaction Unit of my MINI electric vehicle mean?

Your MINI electric vehicle with MINI Operating System 9 features a function to prepare the battery for faster DC charging. The high-voltage battery is brought to pre-set the temperature in advance of a scheduled DC charging stop so that an increased charging power can be achieved immediately after connecting to the charging post, and the charging time can be shortened.

Activation is automatic or done manually in the MINI operating system. The "Prepare battery" icon appears in the status field of the MINI Interaction Unit when battery preparation has been started either manually or automatically – with active route guidance to a DC charging station using MINI navigation.

Change settings for battery preparation for faster DC charging in the MINI operating system:

  • Apps menu
  • "Vehicle"
  • “Charging”
  • "Prepare battery"

Note:
For the pre-temperature setting, energy is only consumed until the target temperature of the high-voltage battery is reached or if the temperature has got to be maintained.
