How can I recognise which MINI operating system my MINI has?

Depending on the MINI system (MINI Operating System) of your MINI, the availability, range of functions and operating principle of vehicle functions, apps and services as well as the displays in the MINI Interaction Unit vary.

You can recognise the MINI system with a menu with displays in the form of tiles (ID6) by the MINI Controller in the centre console and the "My MINI" menu in the central instrument.

With MINI Operating System 9, there is no MINI Controller in the centre console. Operation is by voice with the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant or by touch on the MINI Interaction Unit with a fully digital OLED display measuring 240 millimetres in diameter. The home screen displays various widgets for functions and apps with real-time information and dynamic content above the navigation map.
