After you have logged in your Game Controller once to your MINI with Operating System 9, it will automatically connect to your MINI via Bluetooth® each time you switch it on.
If your Game Controller does not connect automatically, proceed as follows:
1. Select the following in the MINI system: Apps menu > "Game Controller" > "Connect device" and select the desired Game Controller from the list of all detected devices on the control display.
2. If the Controller does not connect, switch it off and on again.
3. If the Controller still does not connect, remove the Controller in the MINI system and log it in again. Further information about the Game Controller can be found in the MINI system under "Integrated Owner's Handbook" and in the MINI Driver's Guide app.
Please note:
- To minimise driver distraction, the use of games is restricted in certain situations for safety reasons.
- If there are connection problems, it may help to switch the Controller off and on again. Also check whether the latest firmware is installed on the Controller.
- With Operating System 9, the use of Controllers from different manufacturers is only possible to a limited extent - for example, devices with "Bluetooth Classic" and "Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)" technology cannot be used at the same time. Information on the technology of your Controller can be found in the operating instructions, technical documentation or packaging of the device or on the manufacturer's web page.
- Proprietary Game Controllers that are not "Android HID" compatible (e.g. Nintendo Switch JoyCons, Sony Playstation 3) are not supported.
Available for MINI models with MINI Operating System 9 (from 07/2025) and an active MINI Connected package subscription.
