With the "Game Controller" entertainment function, you can connect up to two Game Controllers from different manufacturers (e.g. Microsoft, SONY) per display in your MINI via Bluetooth® to control selected gaming apps. You can download the relevant apps from the MINI Connected Store in the vehicle. The support of a Game Controller varies depending on the game design. You can see whether a particular game supports a Game Controller in the detailed information of the gaming app under "Supports" in the MINI Connected Store in the vehicle. Further information about the Game Controller can be found in the MINI Driver's Guide app or in the Owner's Handbook of your MINI.
Please note:
- To minimise driver distraction, the use of games is restricted in certain situations for safety reasons.
- If there are connection problems, it may help to switch the Controller off and on again. Also check whether the latest firmware is installed on the Controller.
- With Operating System 9, the use of Controllers from different manufacturers is only possible to a limited extent - for example, devices with "Bluetooth Classic" and "Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)" technology cannot be used at the same time. Information on the technology of your Controller can be found in the operating instructions, technical documentation or packaging of the device or on the manufacturer's web page.
- Proprietary Game Controllers that are not "Android HID" compatible (e.g. Nintendo Switch JoyCons, Sony Playstation 3) are not supported.
- Games in the "AirConsole Games" vehicle app are designed for use with smartphones (Android or iPhone) and do not support Game Controllers.
Available for MINI models with MINI Operating System 9 (from 07/2025) and an active MINI Connected package subscription.
