To be able to use Game Controllers from different manufacturers (e.g. Microsoft, SONY) via a Bluetooth® connection in your MINI with Operating System 9, you must log them in to the vehicle once. For this, select the following in the MINI system: Apps menu > "Game Controller" > "Connect device". Switch on the Game Controller and activate Bluetooth® pairing mode. Select the desired Game Controller from the list of all detected devices on the control display. The selected Game Controller is logged in and connected.
Please note:
- To minimise driver distraction, the use of games is restricted in certain situations for safety reasons.
- If there are connection problems, it may help to switch the Controller off and on again. Also check whether the latest firmware is installed on the Controller.
- With Operating System 9, the use of Controllers from different manufacturers is only possible to a limited extent - for example, devices with "Bluetooth Classic" and "Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE)" technology cannot be used at the same time. Information on the technology of your Controller can be found in the operating instructions, technical documentation or packaging of the device or on the manufacturer's web page.
- Proprietary Game Controllers that are not "Android HID" compatible (e.g. Nintendo Switch JoyCons, Sony Playstation 3) are not supported.
Available for MINI models with MINI Operating System 9 (from 07/2025) and an active MINI Connected package subscription.
