By assigning a MINI Digital Key Plus to your MINI ID, your MINI with Operating System 9 automatically activates your personal settings when you unlock the vehicle and you are greeted on the welcome screen with your profile name and profile image from the MINI App. To activate automatic driver recognition, select the following on the MINI Interaction Unit:
- "MINI ID" (profile icon in the status field at the top right)
- "Profile settings"
- "Driver recognition"
- Follow the instructions on the Control Display and select the desired physical key or a smartphone for the MINI Digital Key Plus.
If the vehicle is unlocked using a physical key or a Digital Key (Plus) that has not yet been assigned to a MINI ID, a notification will appear on the vehicle’s control display.
Depending on the situation, the procedure is as follows:
- If a MINI ID is active and exactly one physical key or Digital Key (PLUS) that has not yet been assigned is detected, clicking on the notification automatically creates a link between the profile and the key.
- If a MINI ID is active and several keys that have not yet been assigned are detected, clicking on the notification takes the customer to the “Driver Recognition” menu described above. There, the keys to be linked can be selected and associated with the profile.
- If the guest profile is active and an unassigned key is detected, the customer is first prompted to log in using their personal profile. After switching to the relevant section, the notification described above appears again and, when clicked, allows the key to be linked to the section.
