MINI how-to guide: This is how you add your MINI ID to your MINI with Operating System 9.

In MINI vehicles with Operating System 9, one main user and up to six co-users can log in with their MINI IDs. For unrestricted use of the MINI Connected digital services in your MINI, such as the MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant, you must be logged in to your MINI with your MINI ID. When you log in, the personal data and settings of the MINI ID are loaded from the MINI Cloud.

Requirements:

  • You need a MINI ID.

  • Your vehicle must be stationary.

  • Your MINI requires a mobile connection. Avoid places with poor mobile phone reception, such as underground car parks.

Important notes:

  • If you do not have a MINI ID, you can register a MINI ID in the vehicle during the login process. However, MINI recommends registering a MINI ID in the MINI App.

  • With the MINI App on your smartphone, you can quickly log in by scanning a QR code in the vehicle. Alternatively, you can log in with the login data (e-mail, password) for your MINI ID.
  • When you add your MINI ID to your MINI for the first time, your MINI is also automatically added to the MINI App.

  • The user who first adds their MINI ID in the vehicle is the main user. All other users are co-users with limited rights.

  • You, and if applicable the main user of the vehicle, will be informed by e-mail that your MINI ID has been added.

  • You must enable synchronisation of the personal data and settings for your MINI ID with the MINI Cloud in the Privacy menu.

  • Link your vehicle key or digital key to your MINI ID to automatically load the personal data and settings for your MINI ID when unlocking the vehicle.

Step 1:

Select the profile icon in the status bar.

 

Step 2:

Depending on the currently active profile, select: "Guest" > "Add profile" or "Add MINI ID".

 

Step 3:

Scan the displayed QR code with your smartphone, select "MINI" and follow the instructions on your smartphone.

 

If you are logged in to the MINI App on your smartphone with your MINI ID, your MINI ID will now be added to the vehicle.

Otherwise, you will be redirected to the MINI mobile web page where you can log in or register a MINI ID.

 

Step 4:

If necessary, make further settings on the MINI Interaction Unit.

 

Step 5:

Confirm with "Finalise".
